Floors are FINISHED
Actually they were prefinished (yes the pun makes me laugh). Anyway, our floors have been installed and the trim is complete. Also, we decided to have the fireplace surrond (outdated cheap white bathroom tiled) updated with marble. The house is really looking great. Currently on the short list are repainting the pink kitchen cabinets and changing the handles. Hoping that this will be a small task.
Oh - we had our new appliances delivered too!
And we still have to find a few rugs to help protect the floors.

We Moved!
Bacon was the first to finish packing. Not surprising as she only had one small box. We used ACTS movers (again) and know that we could not have moved without them.
We bought floors!
Finally. We've ordered floors. Which means that we picked a species, width, depth and COLOR for the floors. This was a major event for us. Now we have to have them installed (details).
We choose the Imperial Teak (Acacia) in a 3 5/8" width.

Painting is done! (well at least upstairs)
SO I was right! The Silk Brocade that I picked out as the perfect pink/salmon/peach color for the small guest bedroom was pale yellow (read strange) green. I questioned the painter about it & he said something along the lines of "nope that's the color, it's yellow". When I asked told him that I would pick up more paint since I wanted the room a pinkish-tan, he said "are you serious? PINK in a bedroom". And wouldn't you know it, I gave in. So the room has a full coat of pale yellow with a strange green tint.
THEN TODAY, the painter left me a frantic message. "Hi Melissa, this is Jim the painter. When I opened the second can of Silk Brocade it was the strange dark tan/pink color. The labels on both cans say SILK BROCADE, but the color codes are different. It's not the green, sorry I mean yellow that you have for the first coat."
Uh huh....So at least I know my color vision isn't that far off. And I know that I was right, the room does have a strange green glow. I started to get used to having a pale yellow room, minus the green glow. So we're on to a third color. A true Pale Yellow called Cherokee Rose. We'll see what happens.
Any suggestion for where to use the tan/pink/salmon gallon. Right now thinking either a closet (surprise our guest) or the laundry room.
PS - here's the paint pallete I'm using: http://www.duron.com/products/collections/color_palettes/pdf/4collection.pdf
